Ellerslie Students - Eric Ludy Bio
meet JADE Creative assistant, set apart girl
If you’re out and about Windsor, you’ll probably find me at the Ludy’s house, watching the “Bonkin’ Guy” movie (aka Swiss Family Robinson) with Hudson and Harper while snuggling Dubber and Avy - or answering emails at Alba’s coffee shop.
Whenever I can, I like to steal away to a nice cozy coffee shop and plant myself in an out of the way corner. You’ll find me tucked away in that corner with all my journals, a couple books, and of course my Bible. There’s nothing better than hours upon hours of reading, writing, and people watching.
Right now, I’m reading The Journals of Jim Elliot, Passion and Purity, and The Lord God Made Them All. Yes, I’m one of those people who NEVER reads just one book at a time. My bedside table alone is a small library of books I’ve begun to read.
Tea or coffee? (in case you want to treat the staff)
Well, that’s a hard one, I love them both so much! So, if we’re talking tea, then Irish Breakfast or Earl Grey (Double Bergamot) please with lots of cream and stevia. If we’re talking coffee, then a Grande Skinny Latte...however, I’m quite partial to peppermint tea with loads of cream and sweetener and you’ll never catch me turning down a cinnamon latte...Oh dear, so much to choose from and the cup’s never big enough...
Kiddo snuggles, the color purple, and old cottages by the sea always make me smile.
When I was 8, I thought I was sincerely going to be a dentist. Then I grew up, found out I had no idea what I wanted to be (even after graduating school with a degree) and decided God knew far better what I wanted than I did. So, I walked away from my career to find out that His plans and dreams are more glorious than anything I could have ever imagined!
Something I’m most excited about for you as a student is... that you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people for ten whole weeks and after that you’ll have friendships that will encourage you and hopefully deepen your walk with Jesus for a lifetime!
My favorite aspect about the Ellerslie environment is...the laughter and joy from heaven that fills each person here! We laugh a lot, yet, if God asks us to bear the anguish of His heart, we joyfully do that as well.
A historical Christian character that could be my replacement here at Ellerslie would be...Sarah Edwards.
The funniest thing that's happened to me at Ellerslie was...probably the day I ran smack dab into a light pole while walking with some of the first term students in Estes Park. Drat a person that hides my keys and distracts me from looking where I’m going!
My number one highlight from the current/past Ellerslie term is...the day I was re-baptized in our little lake! I can think of no greater moment in my life, then when Eric and Annie pulled me up from that water and the full knowledge of what I’d just declared washed over me!
