Ellerslie Students - Eric Ludy Bio
meet Nathan Producer for bravehearted thots
Laughter, friends, and a great book always makes me smile.
Tea or coffee? (in case you want to treat the staff)
Tea! Decaf Chai or a wonderful assortment of herbal teas (especially peppermint and green) with a little honey thrown in.
Right now, I’m reading... E.M. Bounds on Prayer, Crowded to Christ (L.E. Maxwell), The Audiobiography of George Muller, They Found the Secret (V. Raymond Edman), Helps to Holiness (Samuel Brengle), Humility (Andrew Murray). As a book fanatic, I can’t help but be caught up within several books at the same time!
Whenever I’m on campus, you’ll find me bounding around with a big smile finding ways to serve and spill my life or engaged within a deep conversation about my Jesus.
Whenever I can, I like to steal away and soak in the intimacy and embrace of Jesus through His Word.
Something I’m most excited about for you as a student is for Jesus to become your sole attention, your number one focus, your single delight, your only drive, your consuming passion, your turn on, the beat of your heart, the flow of your life, the every thought within your mind, the word upon your lips, your life’s energy and resource... in short, I am most excited for Jesus to become your life.
My favorite aspect about the Ellerslie environment is...how Ellerslie is all about Jesus. The environment and atmosphere lifts Him high and magnifies His Name! In this set apart season, individuals have the opportunity to completely focus upon Jesus, cultivate intimacy with Him, learn and stand upon the authority of the Word, be made sharp and strong, and participate in edifying conversations about the greatness and grandeur of our King. The worship, the sessions, the meals, the dorm life, the fun and laughter, and everything in between are all centered upon Jesus.
A historical Christian character that could be my replacement here at Ellerslie would be...a mixture of Samuel Brengle, Ian Thomas, Barnabas (Acts 4.36, 15.35), and Stephen (Acts 6.3-5). Ben Zornes thinks I need to add in John Wesley to my list.
The funniest thing that's happened to me at Ellerslie is...the continual bombardment of poking and jokes about my laugh - the one that can be heard within a 2.68 mile radius. Eric, the staff, and even the students seem to enjoy bringing it up at every chance possible (it may also have to do with the fact that I am always laughing).
My number one highlight from the current/past Ellerslie term is...seeing the dramatic change within the lives of every student during their time here - specifically, as Hudson Taylor called it, "the exchange."
