IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I would go to Santorini Greece, I would sight-see, and just enjoy the beauty.
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? My family gives me so much joy. :)
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, " Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." This verse simply reminds me that God has everything planned out, and I don't need to worry about my future, because it's already written. That is a very comforting thought.

WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? Really it would have to be a combination of people. I would say the three that have influenced me the most are C. T. Studd, Jim Elliot, and then the apostle Paul. All three where men who spent all that they were in the service of Christ. It motivates me to live like that, and also serves as a conviction when I don’t.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I can’t decide on just one place that I would go. There are two places that I would go if the chance ever arose. The first would be to south America to share Christ with the main unreached people there. To go deep among the rivers and mountains carrying the good news of the Gospel to all that I meet. The second would be going back to Haiti and helping one of the local pastors. I met him when I was down there recently, but I wish that I could help him. He has so much responsibility (His ministry, the running of a 400+ student school, and also arranging which churches mission teams would work at) yet he always was there to encourage and help us. I would enjoy the chance to go and encourage him in any way possible.
THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME: adaptable. adventurer. protector.

HEATHER:
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? I love to play piano. It has become a very special way for me to express my love to Jesus.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: "You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." Isaiah 26:3-4 This year has brought many good but hard changes to our family. In it, I've seen this verse to ring true countless times.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I would travel to Scotland. I have always wanted to see the 'heather hills,' and (because I love history), would enjoy so much getting to see all the old castles and places where major historical events took place.
THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME: artist. loyal. joyful.

JUDAH:
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? Seeing the Gospel penetrate a hard heart, seeing people become free form the weight of the world, and having opportunity to preach the Word. Sitting in the presence of great men of God who have stood before me, feeling Gods spirit rest on them and listening to the wisdom that they share.
I also love film making, snowboarding and studying Theology!
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: Hebrews 4:12-16; 10:19-25
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I would go to Scotland and visit all the historic sites of William Wallace as well as King James I. I would spend time with my wife in the Word enjoying the beauty of the land and soaking in sites of the ancient world.

WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? George Mueller. He trusted God in everything, no matter how seemingly impossible, and God never failed Him! His heart's desire was the glory of his beloved Savior. His story has been a tremendous encouragement to me this year.
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? A Christ-centered conversation with a dear friend.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:6-7

WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? There are many things that bring me joy, but since I have to choose just one, it would be sweet little kiddos. I very much enjoy working with them watching them play, and photographing their innocence; God uses them to endlessly brighten my life!
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? There is not one specific place I am dying to go to, but it would be fun to tour and photograph different parts of Europe, as well as our own beautiful country of the United States!
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? I would go to the ocean, my favorite place in Creation. Whether it be to take pictures, walk along the shore, beach-comb, watch the seabirds, or just bask in God's presence, my ideal weekend would be spent there!

WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT BRINGS YOU JOY? FOOD! :) Really, something that really gives me joy is Gods amazing answers to prayer. These are proof that God loves even the most undeserving of us.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: “Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? It would depend on the time of year, and what projects I have going on. If it is during pheasant season, I will probably be out hunting. Otherwise, I would probably be working on a random obstinate vehicle, or rebuilding an old trailer that's hardly worth my time. Then again, I might be on Craigslist, or on the phone trying to sell the afore mentioned items.

DUSTY | Illinois
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? I've never traveled farther than a few states away, but I would love to go to other cultures and see how others live and get away from materialism, and the abundance that we have here and get down to the basics where faith really thrives because you don't have all the other frivolous and worldly distractions. For a few years now I have longed to go to Africa, India, the Philippines (anywhere really!) and just love on orphans there. I'm not super intelligent and I don't have any special set of skills, but I can love, and that's what children need. They need someone to hold them, and care for them, and just love them like Jesus does!
WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? I would say Corrie Ten Boom has had the biggest impact on my life thus far. A couple years ago a friend gave me The Hiding Place and I put it on a shelf for months and didn't read it. Finally when I rediscovered it I couldn't put it down! It was so encouraging to me and not only showed God's faithfulness in extreme times and their faithfulness to God, but their everyday life before the war was a wonderful example of a family who loved God and the outflow of that was loving and serving others. I loved how their house ran, how much love flowed out of it, how wise her father was and how many different needy souls were welcomed in and taken care of there. It showed me the gospel in action and it made a huge impact on my life. It changed the way I viewed things, and made me more thankful, and encouraged me to have a deeper fellowship with the Lord.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37:5
This verse has kind of been my Ellerslie verse so to speak. So often in my life I have tried to do things on my own and in my own strength, forgetting to include the Lord in every detail and doubting his desire to be involved. However, when I read this verse it rang so true to me and I knew that that was the kind of attitude I wanted to have, the motto I wanted to live my life by. Committing everything to the Lord, bringing every concern and desire, and endeavor to him and not only doing that but then actually trusting him with it, and then trusting that he'll follow through! It was a simple concept yet very elusive in my everyday life. Applying to Ellerslie was I guess my first step in committing my way to the Lord, stepping out in faith and truly trusting him with my life.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Again this is similar to the first one; it's just about acknowledging the Lord in everything, leaning on his truth and his word rather than my own understanding (which is not dependable at all!), actually living out the faith that I profess by allowing him to lead every step.

THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS "So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus." - Romans 6:11 This last year has really been a turning point in my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ, and this verse really sums up the truth that has set me free from my sin!
WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? Probably Eric Ludy! I know he is not exactly considered "historic" yet, but he is the person that has had the greatest impact on my life. I have read quite a few of his books, and listened to countless numbers of his online sermons, and I never cease to be amazed at how everything he talks about rings true in my life!

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? If the trip were a tourist trip, I'd probably go to Israel, to experience the places were Jesus walked on earth. Or, I'd love to go and see the Great Wall of China... But, the coolest trip would probably be to go and share the Good News with those who have never heard, in a place where there is little or no opportunity for them to hear it.
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? Sharing the Gospel! I love telling others about Jesus (most of the time!). One of my favorite memories of doing that is from last summer. My sister and I stopped to get gas, and saw a group of skateboarders hanging out in the parking lot. As we were driving away, I was prompted to return and witness to them -- and so was she! We ended up driving back to the gas station and had a wonderful time sitting on the pavement with the skaters, talking about Jesus, marriage, politics, school, etc.
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? I'd probably choose from the following options:
a) talk with my family while doing stuff/chores around the house
b) call a friend
c) read! (There are SO many books I'd like to read!)
d) listen to a sermon by Tim Keller (There are SO many of his sermons that I want to hear!)
e) bake cookies and eat them
f) catch up with email/computer stuff
g) go outside for some FRESH AIR (walk/jog/swim)
h) visit relatives
i) spend time in prayer and the Word
j) gather a group of friends for a meal together
k) go thrift-store shopping

WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? One person that has really spoken to me is Amy Carmichael. Her complete faith in God as she set out to do the impossible is amazing. She devoted her life to the children of India and rescued hundreds of children in her lifetime.
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? Taking long walks in the woods, reading a new book, or spending time with my family and friends! Also I love teaching! It's so rewarding to see the children grow in their studies and character. To see them finally "get it." And also just simply spending time with children. You can learn so much from them!
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? Recently Latin America has been on my mind a lot! I'd love to be involved in children ministries there and learn Spanish while I'm at it! If I could choose right now, I'd go to Bolivia and work in the Casa de Amor Orphanage on a long term mission trip.

WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? Jesus Christ: the word of God made flesh. The untainted message, TRUTH and revelation of our father presented to us in person and confirmed after Pentecost through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Paul of Tarsus (The Apostle Paul): an intellectually, determined, servant of the Pharisees who first focused his energy in persecuting Christians. When the Truth was revealed to him on the road to Damascus, his God given talents, abilities and character were then used righteously to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles and build the Church (Body of Christ). He is also responsible for writing most of the New Testament which contains pearls of wisdom that our foundational to our Christian life.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: This past year has been the most humbling and truth revealing of my life. I would highlight its entirety by quoting the following verses which have clearly reminded me that this life is not my own. Since God is our creator and redeemer through Jesus Christ whom is to be glorified in everything we do, we are warned against serving the flesh, the world, and the devil. We are to yield, imparting the holiness of Christ in us which is a gift from God just as everything else he has created. To him goes all the glory.
1Co 6:19 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
1Co 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”

HANNAH ROSE | Virginia
WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? I have been greatly inspired and challenged by the testimonies of so many Christians from history, both men and women, from all different time periods, cultures, and backgrounds. Yet there is one thing that binds them all. They were all completely ravished with Jesus Christ. Like these men and women, more than anything else, I desire to give up everything for the One Who gave me His very life, to be a living martyr, and if God would give me the supreme honor, to die a martyr's death. The two people that have had the most profound impact on me are Corrie ten Boom and Rees Howells. Their testimonies of God's faithfulness and provision have inspired me to surrender my all to the Lord. They knew that He would be their provider and take care of all their needs. They chose to walk the path that God called them to, even though people didn't understand it. Corrie and her sister, Betsie, are amazing examples of Christ's love and forgiveness and have taught me that God can give us supernatural joy, strength, peace, and forgiveness, despite our circumstances. We don't have to accept mediocre Christianity, but can walk daily in victory and triumph!
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? Ah, there are many spendidly delightful ways to spend a Saturday afternoon! If the weather is nice, say lower 70s, blue skies and breezy, I'd maybe go for a run and breathe in God's beautiful creation. Or perhaps I'd grab my Nikon and snap a few photos of some beautiful people. Or go to a quaint little coffee shop with a kindred friend and talk for hours about life and our precious Jesus. But more than anything else, I'd like to be surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, with my journal and Bible in tow, a Christian biography, and only the presence of my Lord.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: Several verses have affected me greatly this past year.
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." -2 Corinthians 12:9
The Lord has been teaching me that my weakness is a gift because it draws me closer to Him and causes me to depend on Him for everything, with each breath I take. He is showing me that He is enough and though I am totally incapable of anything good, He can give me supernatural peace, strength, and grace to get through all things. And I don't have to strive after being holy on my own, but rather allow Him to be my all in all and shape me after His likeness.
"Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little." -Luke 7:47
I cannot read this verse without tears coming to my eyes. I realize just how unworthy I am of my precious Lord Jesus Christ, yet He offers His riches to me, in exchange for my rags. I have struggled a lot with my past and have felt a lot of shame over my sins. But, Jesus has lifted me up out of my darkness and shown me that He has completely redeemed all the things the devil meant for destruction in my life. By His precious blood that was spilled on my behalf, I am pure and untainted, like the little girl I once was. And because I realize how much I've been forgiven, I now see that I will be able to love Him much and love others much. He is using my own darkness and turning it into glorious light, for His glory.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." -Romans 8:28
What a glorious truth! I cling to this, that the Lord can and will redeem all things in my life. I desire to bring Him praise with all I am!

THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Phil. 1:6
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? Practice my Cello, read a good book, or play volleyball (or ice hockey depending on the season).
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I've been to Scotland once, and I would love to go back to live there for a while.
THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME: adventurer. contemplative. reader.

DANIEL | Colorado
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? Oh man...I'm not totally sure...buuut if I had my choice of anything...I would probably get a whole bunch of friends together to play Ultimate Frisbee, some sand Volleyball, Basketball, and maybe do some swing dancing, even though the dancing is better at night. I could also fill it riding bikes in Fort Collins or bouldering and rock climbing. Or, if I'm ready to relax and be a little more serious I could just hang out with some people, talking about things we've done, people we know, and things from the Bible that can amaze and confuse me/us.
WHAT IS SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? If it was just one thing, it would be prayer. Right now I've got a job on a farm, where there's not a lot of communication with the outside world...but there it is possible to have endless communication with God, if I can stay focused enough. I'm working on it, but even just the little bit of time I've been able to stay focused on it gives me peace and joy, so much so that I miss it when I don't take the time to pray as long as I do there.
However if I was to pick more than one it would probably be: spiritually: prayer, and when I can figure out a part of the Bible that confused me by using other scripture; physically: hanging out with friends, whether it be playing ultimate frisbee, dancing, or just hanging out; and...I don't know, this might be considered emotionally: I like to make up and write down poems and songs.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS Matthew 6:34.
I may be going outside the boundaries because I think I would have to couple a few verses together.
Romans 2:1-3 "Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?"
And 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
Struggling with temptation, as we all have, these verses really show what has been the working point of my life lately. Realizing that I am no better than those around me because of my sin, seeing clearly what the punishment for that sin is (the wrath of God), and rediscovering the truth that there is an escape from the sin. Though a believer most of my life, through these verses, and others like them, I have begun to get a firm grip on what my faith really is--a continuous realization of how hopeless I am on my own and that Christ is the only way, looking to God for forgiveness, wisdom, and the escape route, and desiring to become conformed to the image of Christ while loving on the others around you, whether the love means hugs or chastisement.
THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME: adaptable. determined. servant.
I DESIRE TO BE KNOWN AS: faithful.

THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS It is hard to narrow to just one, but I guess I would say, Psalm 100. This last year has been the hardest of my life; yet, more often than not it is when we are at our weakest that He proves strongest and I shout for joy to Him for, “The Lord is good and his love endures forever”! Looking back I wouldn't forgo the hardships; for, the lessons learned in the valleys and the miracles witnessed have been priceless.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I have had the privilege of traveling the world. I love to see and explore new places, yet there is something I desire more. My heart aches for the children around the world who are going hungry, both physically and spiritually. The current conditions in Somalia make me weep, yet I know that traveling there, is for me, an ineffective solution. I have not been gifted in that way and the cost of transporting me there would be wasting much needed funds. Yet, God has gifted me in other ways, namely business and project management. So, my dream is not for me to go somewhere, but to have “somewhere” brought to me. There is an organization – Feed My Starving Children – that is very dear to my heart. I desire that someday they, or a similar ministry, open a center in Winston-Salem (the nearest metropolitan area to our rural community), that I may assist in getting it established and continue to serve there, whereby helping to alleviate pressing needs around the world.
IF YOU HAD 3 HOURS TO FILL ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR TIME? My first choice would be to spend time with my family. We all work together in business and serve together in ministry, but rarely do we have time to spend together just having fun. Loving nature as we do, we would probably go hiking or kayaking, or if there wasn't time for a drive to the mountains, then play beanbags in the yard or going bowling. However, if my family were away, then I would choose to mow our field. That probably seems odd, but I love being in God's creation and it is uninterrupted time with Him (funny how nobody seems to want to talk to you when you are driving a big old noisy tractor). Best of all, I can sing my heart out in praise to God and not torture anyone's ears with my awful voice! Lastly, if the field were not in need of mowing, then I would take my Bible, journal, sketchbook and whatever other book I happened to be reading at the time and hunker down for some quality quiet time.

WHAT IS SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? Having fun with my family, enjoying God’s beautiful Creation, spending time with my best friend, and playing worship music.
WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? I have always been greatly inspired and challenged by Elisabeth Elliot, who trusted God to protect her in her ministry to the Auca tribe. I long for the same courage and complete abandon for my Lord and Savior.
THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
This has been a challenging year of trusting God with my relationships and future, knowing that His plan is so much better than anything I could dream up. And I am excited to truly “find” the Lord, as I seek Him with all my heart at Ellerslie.

WHAT IS SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT BRINGS YOU JOY? Reading my Bible and spending time with the creator of the world!

THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK MY LIFE IS: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” – A verse we’ve heard a dozen time. But through all the life-changing Scriptures I’ve dived into over the course of this year, that one defines what carried me through each moment. With this last year being my senior year of high school and the curious summer following, it was (and still is) what kept my Hope secured, and Trust ever-growing.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? A large part of me desires to do what can be done about child trafficking and prostitution in the world. THE SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF MY LIFE IS: Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. This year God has really put it on my heart to offer my everything to Him as a sacrifice and to truly begin to not conform to this world. I pray that He will be renewing my mind everyday.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? I would love to go on a mission trip anywhere but if I am being totally honest, I would go on a nerdy adventure to the Congo. I would travel around photographing the wildlife and search for the legendary MOKELE MBEMBE(a creature known to exist by the locals that may be a sauropod Dinosaur that survived Noah's Flood). As I traveled in the Congo I would also share Christ with those I interacted with.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? The Lord has been working on my heart in the area of orphans for almost as long as I can remember. In the past year and a half especially, the burden has become an incredibly intense one, I can't get them off my mind. A few years ago I saw a documentary that included the story of a little girl who in the last moments of her battle with AIDS was crying out, terrified, begging the orphanage worker to not let her go alone. The last words she heard were empty and useless New Age lies. I've never been able to forget her, knowing that so many more are dying like she did every single day. If I could take a plane anywhere, tomorrow, it's hard to say where I'd go first - but I'd head for the orphans; and as much as I long to nurture their incredible physical needs, more than anything in the world, I just want to hold them as they die and tell them about Jesus.
WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? It's difficult to choose, but Jim and Elisabeth Elliot stand out for me. They both are such incredible examples of surrender, sacrifice, and especially love - the kind that only comes from the Lord Himself. Their story is such a testimony to His power.
WHAT’S SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE THAT GIVES YOU JOY? It is so easy for me to look around and become discouraged by what surrounds me, and I find that though many things in my life may readily distract or even momentarily cheer me, there is no joy or rest purer than that which comes from being in the presence of Jesus, and trusting in His promises. I only wish I would learn more quickly to turn to Him first.

WHO FROM CHRISTIAN HISTORY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE? Amy Carmichael was a virtuous woman, her love and passion for our King has made me want more of His presence in my life. Her lifestyle was to extend her hand to the poor, and reach out her hands to the needy. Jesus was everything to her and I want the same for me.
WHAT IS A SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT COULD BEST HALLMARK THIS PAST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE? It has been a year of a lot of changes. God in his mercy has invited me to work where he is working; has called me to leave everything: work, studies, personal goals and family to follow Him. It has been the biggest challenge, but at the same time, it has been the most wonderful thing that has happened to me. The following verses have transformed my life this year:
“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me” - Philippians 3:8-12
